Chichester’s Christmas 2018

By January 25, 2019Uncategorized

We know that the new year has rung out with headlines that the country has experienced it’s worst Christmas trading on the high street for a decade. Hopefully Chichester bucked the trend.

A full marketing report will be published in February encapsulating all statistics and feedback from the BID’s activities for the festive period. This will include press coverage, social media feedback, Facebook statistics, Spirit FM’s “Christmas Spirit” reach and success.

Feedback from the public and businesses alike has shown that the Christmas lights were received with gratitude and delight and that is all down to your BID Levy contribution. It’s been amazing to see how the
public have engaged with us over the festive period, extending their thanks to you – the BID – for the Christmas illuminations, we hope that this has translated in heightened activity at your till points.

Here are just a few of the many wonderful testimonials we received and wanted to share with you:

“On Tuesday 27 November I went to Chichester after a hospital appointment at St Richards. It was a horrible dark rainy day. When walking into East Street, the Christmas lights were so pretty and it immediately lifted my spirits. Well done to all involved, the lights are Amazing and I will come back again to see the Christmas tree in all its glory”. Member of the public.

“I think the work you are all doing on the Christmas festivities in the city is superb and is not only dragging the city into
the 21st century! But also gaining it good reviews & giving pleasure to a lot of people visiting the City which is of course having the desired effect of accessing businesses to the extra footfall & feel-good factor”. Business owner.

“I just wanted to say how lovely the Christmas lights in the city centre are this year. Thank you for making the decision to invest in more than usual all streets look very festive”. Member of the public.
