The founder of Solutions Inc John Parvin said “ We are a big believer in community spirit and looking forward to working with Chichester BID on 26th November for turning on the Christmas Lights and filming our Christmas Video”.

This will be aired on our social media and shared with Chichester BID on the 1st December @Solutions_Inc @ChichesterBID  using hashtags: #ChichesterXmas #SBT #SBF

All Shook Up! - Festival of Chichester

On 11 July Dawn Gracie will be hosting an event at Westbourne House just outside Chichester.

This event will play host to vintage music from the 40s and 60s, a photobooth, plenty of dancing and a variety of catering offerings available to keep your hunger at bay.

'All Shook Up' will be run in conjuction with the Festival of Chichester and all proceeds from this event will go towards St Wilfrids Hospice.

Why not pop down between 6.30pm - 11.30pm and take part in 'more than just a vintage dance'.

Clothkits Red Sock Challenge - Join in the trail this weekend, starting on Friday 13th March...

For Red Nose Day Clothkits is co-ordinating a trail around the businesses of Chichester. They are making sock creatures to hide around the town and entrants are invited to find as many as they can on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March - with a fabulous sewing machine as the prize!

So far Clothkits has 25 businesses supporting the project and they hope to find a few more if they can make enough critters in time! Some businesses have made their own which is great!

Digital High Street training from Association of Town Centre Managers

If you have a small high street retail business, this is for you! 'Digital High Street Skills' is a brand new, tailor-made suite of training programmes specifically designed to help small businesses develop their knowledge of the internet, social media and benefits of getting their business online.

From developing a website to using email marketing and social media, the Digital High Street Skills Programme run by the Association of Town Centre Management (ATCM), will equip small business with the confidence, skills and tools they need to benefit from the rapid growth of e-tailing and ultimately increase their bottom line.

The Introduction will be by Professor Clive Behagg, Vice Chancellor of the University.

Professor Behagg is a member of the Board of the Local Enterprise Partnership which encourages economic growth across West and East Sussex.  The Board is led by business owners and local authorities with support from Universities and Colleges.  He will be explaining the aims of the LEP and how the University can interact with the business community of Chichester.

The Principal Speaker  will be Richard Plowman, immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Chichester.

Richard’s career has been as a Senior Executive in Research, Development and Marketing working in ICI, Zeneca and Scotts Garden Products. After taking early retirement he was appointed Secretary for the Leisure and Furniture Association successfully introducing a new Trade Show “SOLEX” into the UK garden industry. He was Mayor of Chichester in 2005, is a City Councillor and has been a District Councillor. Richard will be explaining how Rotary can work with businesses by Corporate Partnership and assist with Corporate Social Responsibility. There is also a framework for networking and opportunities for local businesses to obtain publicity by becoming involved with projects organised by the Chichester Rotary Clubs. Rotary is a worldwide organisation of professional businessmen and is a Registered Charity. It was set up over a hundred years ago to enable its members to interact in business with networking as well as providing benefits to the local community.

The Presentation will conclude with a short audio/visual display of recent activities that the three Chichester Rotary Clubs have undertaken to support various activities in and around Chichester.

This Event will provide an opportunity for networking and will explain how Rotary can help your business.

Refreshments will be provided and car parking is available within the University grounds.

Jazz Smugglers at the Festive Jazz Cafe

Enjoy a delightful mix of jazz, seasonal readings and complimentary mince pies at the Festive Jazz Café with the much-loved Jazz Smugglers band in the atmospheric setting of grade 1 listed St John's Chapel on Wednesday, 10th December, at 7.30pm.

Gareth Williams, singer with the chart-topping, million-selling Flying Pickets heads the bill. 'Only You' was number one for 6 weeks in the 80s. Now an actor whose credits include the West End hit Guys and Dolls, the English Shakespeare Company and, in Chichester, St Thomas Becket in Murder in the Cathedral and Chekhov in the 2013 Festival. Gareth's performance will include a fantastic new work by Sir Andrew Motion. 

David Swann has won numerous poetry competitions and is a nominee for the prestigious Ted Hughes Award. Wise and witty, everyone enjoys David's reading.

Emily Rose Smith has performed with Sam West in CFT's Dr Faustus, with Gareth Williams and film star Nick Moran in Chekhov's The Bear and given a special performance of Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market for Andrew Lloyd Webber's select Sydmonton Festival.

The Jazz Smugglers entertain with jazz classics by Gershwin, Cole Porter and will weave jazzy versions of carols into a heady brew - music to melt the heart.
