Clothkits Red Sock Challenge - Join in the trail this weekend, starting on Friday 13th March...

For Red Nose Day Clothkits is co-ordinating a trail around the businesses of Chichester. They are making sock creatures to hide around the town and entrants are invited to find as many as they can on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March - with a fabulous sewing machine as the prize!

So far Clothkits has 25 businesses supporting the project and they hope to find a few more if they can make enough critters in time! Some businesses have made their own which is great!

If you can't join in with the whole trail, join their social media competition for the 'Sock Selfie' with the most likes posted on their page:

Jazz Smugglers at the Festive Jazz Cafe

Enjoy a delightful mix of jazz, seasonal readings and complimentary mince pies at the Festive Jazz Café with the much-loved Jazz Smugglers band in the atmospheric setting of grade 1 listed St John's Chapel on Wednesday, 10th December, at 7.30pm.

Help us to help you have a great festival. All proceeds go towards next year's Festival of Chichester.

Gareth Williams, singer with the chart-topping, million-selling Flying Pickets heads the bill. 'Only You' was number one for 6 weeks in the 80s. Now an actor whose credits include the West End hit Guys and Dolls, the English Shakespeare Company and, in Chichester, St Thomas Becket in Murder in the Cathedral and Chekhov in the 2013 Festival. Gareth's performance will include a fantastic new work by Sir Andrew Motion.

David Swann has won numerous poetry competitions and is a nominee for the prestigious Ted Hughes Award. Wise and witty, everyone enjoys David's reading.

Emily Rose Smith has performed with Sam West in CFT's Dr Faustus, with Gareth Williams and film star Nick Moran in Chekhov's The Bear and given a special performance of Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market for Andrew Lloyd Webber's select Sydmonton Festival.

The Jazz Smugglers entertain with jazz classics by Gershwin, Cole Porter and will weave jazzy versions of carols into a heady brew - music to melt the heart.

Don't miss out - come along and help us raise some vital funds for the Festival. All performers are giving their services free. Bar/refreshments. And don't forget the free mince pies!
