What have you done in your business to make you feel proud?

It's never been more difficult to make a mark in the world of business. With the recession seeming to be never ending, trading conditions are as bad as they have been for a generation or more.  That's why it makes sense to shout from the rooftops when you have a business to be proud of.

And that's where we can help.

The Observer and Gazette Business Awards have become one of the most prestigious events on the local calendar.  Every year, in the Observer series of papers - covering Chichester, Midhurst & Petworth and Bognor Regis - and the Littlehampton Gazette, we use the awards to turn the spotlight on the area's success stories.  For five or six months leading up to the awards, we publish stories about the local firms and businesses which continue to make a mark - and we only learn about many of these businesses after reading their awards entry form.

A panel of independent judges then looks at every entry we receive, and chooses the winners, who are unveiled at the glittering black-tie awards evening.  The winners receive a lot of publicity in the Observer and Gazette and the newspaper websites.  It's an invaluable way for businesses to highlight their successes - and it's free.

Entry to the awards is free. Stories are carried in the newspapers and online, and it's free. The write-up after the awards is free.

So what are you waiting for? Enter the awards now, and see the difference publicity can make to your business.  The Observer series is one of the biggest-selling and best-read weekly newspaper groups in the country, and the Gazette is the local paper for the Littlehampton area.  The judges are looking for businesses that are thriving in the current climate, or that have shown amazing innovation, or growth, in terms of staff numbers or cash turnover or profit. And they are looking for business people who have made a real difference.

Learn more about the awards by reading the Observer or the Gazette, or go online for details and the entry forms. Or contact Jeanette Hockley on 01243 534140 or via who will be happy to talk things over with you.
